It Isn'T Very Hard

"IT ISN'T VERY HARD"

when someone tells you:

they've been murdered,
segregated
dismissed
used
abandoned
hurt
crying
depressed
suicidal
alone
homeless
hungry
drunk
broke
singled out
laughed at
wandering
they've been brought back
from the dead only to be
murdered again,

they've been thrown under
the weight of false love,

just listen.

never tell the ant his pain
doesn't match the anteater's.
never tell the trees their
pain doesn't match the wind's.
never tell the earth it's pain
doesn't match the rain's.

death is pain.

listen.

listen.

for the love of God,

just listen.
