It Happened Again
it happened again
she leaps from the floor
onto the stove
one giant step and she leaps
to the top of the refrigerator
for the second time
my china butter holder
skittled away from her
the law of conversation of momentum
i knew to set it aside
banish to the wall and away
from her momentum
this time it became pieces
with lumps of butter scattered
on the floor beneath
now i am holding her
drained of emotions
a trip to the store to calm me down
telling her
it is ok my precious
this one is really cool
with a hinge that flips up
and it is made of plastic
can you imagine how cats
just sit back at times
and think how smart we humans are
