It Flew Away

A smiling dancing singing bird one day
Came in cool colors in a rhythmic sway
Hugged the pink twigs of a bleeding heart
Pleasant current of warm air playing under the shirt
Unfortunately I hesitated a little and the bird flew away

Timothy Hicks Date: 2/27/2016 5:48:00 PM This was really amusing, Probir. The image of a bird getting tangled in your shirt was playfully done. Though you could take it literally, I can also see a possible other meaning, where it's an analogy for love that "snatches you", but then eventually flies away ... such is the fleeting moments of life. I think the three -ing words, in a row, in the first line is a bit awkward for me to say out loud, but other than that, I enjoyed this poem.
