Jack Ellison Poet Quatrain

It Ain'T Easy You Know

It really ain't easy you know
Keeping up with you talented poets
You guys are totally amazing
Your creative presentations show it

Feel like an rank amateur at times
When reviewing your wonderful stuff
Truly eloquent compositions
Keeping up with you guys is tough

You've either got it or you ain't
Can't fake it if your words don't sing 
Before long it'll be discovered
You lack that rare intangible thing

At times think I might have it
Then review your poetic submissions
Realize I'm still a rank amateur
And don't fit the word 'poet' definition

Guess I'll just keep bumbling along
With my silliness and nonsensical fun
As long as you guys keep cheering me on
Sure hope I don't fall on my bum!

Harry Horsman September 25, 2012 at 4:14 AM Hi Jack i know exactly where you are coming from, i myself feel the same, no education and all that stuff, but i have found if what you write, that from deep within you, (as you have with this wonderful poem, and the poem in itself is a worthy contribution to the poetry world,)then the sentiment comes through, to touch many. what you write Jack takes us on many journeys, there is room for all different aspects of poetry, and we learn from them all... good on you Jack, you're special mate....
