Is Our Generation Dying

My heart is bleeding out
Wondering what our generation is becoming of
They and we, say we are the next leaders
But who’s going to lead the country
Drunkards? Corrupt persons?
Our generation is dying
While our leaders are lying
Who’s going to save this generation?
Students are taking shortcuts to excel,
Youths consuming themselves in drugs and alcohol,
While others engaging themselves in unprotected sex.
Are our parents too busy to see this?
Relatives are turning against their children
And rape is the day to day news.
Is someone out there fighting for this generation?
Innocent kids are being neglected and introduced to prostitution
While youths are recruited to join terrorism
Is anyone listening to this generation?
We can only pray to God that someone comes to rescue us.

Wow Juliet, I hope people are actually reading these words when they come by. There's so much harsh truth in this beautiful poem. Powerful!
