Is love a sin?

If you were to ask me about love, I would not speak of poems or stars. I would tell you about her...her gaze, her smile, even the way she breathes...for I can only speak about her and her alone. I do not know the kind of love they teach in society or in history books. All I know is her. That love is her… yet it is called forbidden, although every part of me walks toward her as though she were home.
The cruelest thing about loving her is not loving in secret. It is knowing that if the world had allowed it, I would have loved her openly without hesitation, without fear, without anything hidden in the corners. I would not have had to choose silence over her name, or distance over her presence. Just us, in the open, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. But that is a luxury I cannot afford, for my heart can only whisper her name as though it were a broken prayer. I am afraid even the heavens might cast me aside for loving her.
How can loving her ever be a sin when it feels more honest than every truth I have ever spoken or heard?
