Is It All Meaningless

Is it all meaningless? I wanted to write a poem today, Words in my head like vapour, Nothing I could get down on paper. Dreams in the night, no fright. Thoughts of the day drift and sway, Having my coffee, pen in my hand, Time seems to dissolve the day away. Look at the horizon, the future is there. Horizons are unreachable,so I say, beware. Never reaching your goal, while you are whole, Time makes you then takes you to pieces, We are all born to die reaching for that crown, Such is this life with its peaks, up and down. All hoping to achieve that immortal stage While we wait, our fears we must assuage Death oh death where is thy sting? Until you arrive, to my God I will sing. © Dave Timperley 12/10/2018
