Irreplaceable

		gaslights, cobblestone streets
                   horse-drawn carriages
                markets and town squares
                   folks barter and meet

frilly lace dresses, topped by bonnets
a handsome hat, with a feather on it
merchants hawk their wares with flair
a festive feeling pervades the air

where did it all go, why is it gone
                        when nothing replaced it
                               ‘cept Amazon

What a true/wonderful/powerful write you have here. What Amazon has Not replaced AI has. Wish I could go back in time. Oh say, 30 years. Have a great day writing away............

Good one, Gershon. I remember the Sears department stores, the mega-malls, hanging out at them. Now, a cellphone or computer does the walking for people while they shop online. With the youth fights that break out at malls, some shoppers just avoid the malls. Shalom :)

the ways of this world, so automated and commercialized...gritty and remarkable musings, gershon!

:) One word, Propaganda! What folks here, see they are tempted to believe. That's why governments, and manufacturers go after the minds of young people, who do not have a store of alternative memories for comparison. How many parents have been feeding themselves and their children poison because they assumed the government would protect them...? They will rot in the hell they don't believe in. Lots of surprises when they leave this earth...not the good ones I reference.

yah, but ya had to get dressed, leave the house, actually engage with "people", breathe in the aroma and vibrancy of life, laugh at and with one another....what a drag...
