Irreconcilable Paradox

“Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them?” Shakespeare asked.* I suspect we are living in just such a time, indeed, When we must weigh the irreconcilable paradox: Whether one or the other is a better course to take For a nation festering internally over flawed values, National purpose, and deep systemic divisiveness. We need leaders who are willing to do the hard work Of governing with compassionate strength, With level-headed articulation of the national will, While recognizing we will always face good trouble! (*with appreciation for the quotation from Hamlet by William Shakespeare)

Unfortunately, Putin has absolute power and his troops know their family will suffer if they don't toe the line whereas Biden has helicopters falling out of the sky like snowflakes because his troops have "issues" . . . United we are not! Aloha!

Yes, I think you make a good point, Rico. One thing we could use right now would be a good dose of understanding, tolerance, and unity!

If life was only poetry that could be understood things would be easier, my friend, L.Milton. Unfortunately, war muggers care very little for it. Excellently written.

Aw, thanks, Eve. I am also afraid of the outcome, but I hope we will not become enmeshed in Ukraine's misfortunes and/or her conflict with Russia. I do not want this to escalate into a World War III, as it could very easily do. Hugs to you, Eve.
