Irony

life
 this passing through
 strive, strain
 to attain
 standards arbitrary
 success, succession
 blinded to beauty
 by beauty
 miss the point
 until the end.

 perhaps
 we are extras
 in the dreams
 of one, who waits
 to be born.

Very well espoused, Patricia! A recurring thought that has provoked many comments from many deep thinkers throughout the long centuries. In warm affection. :) john

Thank you John just one of my thought tangents. Bad case of the 'what ifs' that day.

Oh wow, I love the last stanza, the thought of that is truly amazing...that person must not desire to make us fly though, nor have super strength, or...! I surely loved reading your ingenious thoughts this morning! What a fascinating poem my friend! Great Work!!

Very interesting poem with its hazy musings. Love it, poetry that gets the reader to meet the poet half way! Well done.
