Iron and Steel and Clouds of Smoke

Yes, the machines are still running One thousand products produced every week The products will be on the shelves soon enough The workers in the factory will get their pay, fortunately enough Through the making of iron and steel and an atmosphere filled with clouds of smoke the workers continue to create Mass production Mass production Mass production in the early morning trucks arrive to carry the products to the shelves where the public is awaiting anxiously standing in line they pluck the fruits of the industrial process and head homeward with their prizes

I can relate to this poem, because my Mom works at a factory job. She has for years, and it is an endless cycle of the same thing done everyday. I wish there were a safer and better place for her to work...A nice flow to the words in this poem. Great work, Matthew!...Thank you very much for the great comments!

yes, the industrial revolution did a lot for workers. Too bad it is not helping as much as before. We barely make enough to pay our bills any more. Good one.
