Invisible Jim and the Ghost

Can you see
through to his invisibility
Don’t grasp onto
who you need him to be.
Sure, he’s a bit complicated
Let him be fancy free and overstated
If you try to hard you’ll never be sated

Change this
change that
He’ll never be that cat
Meow mix baby
listen to him scat
His ideas are deliciously fat
Lay out all the bases
It’s his turn at bat!

If you let him
he’ll move to you
If not you’ll be through
There will be nothing
you can say or do
Unless you be you
and let him be him
your chances are slim
Cause he’s cool hand Luke
disguised as Jim
hat slanted with smirk
eyes hidden below the brim

He can’t see
through your invisibility
You are now the ghost
he needs you to be
No need for explanations
to describe your decisions
You couldn’t fix him
to meet your expectations.
You made the wrong calculations!

Hi Richard, I love the fun way you have approached this poem. Sometimes, if you try to change someone, you can destroy who they are, they can turn from you. It is always better to let things occur naturally. Once again, your creativity shines through within this deep write. People should just be allowed to be themselves and see what shall be. I love the content, Richard. A fav. Have a wonderful Friday. Hugs....Mike.

Absolutely untranslatable. It must be because of invisibility) Nicely and untranslatably done, Richard.

I like this, Richard. It has a cool rhythm and story. That second verse is a lot of fun. Love the ending. Sounds about right!

In order to tame a musician one must learn how to pull all his right chords..lol Also, Like Tom said, we let them think they can, so easily we have them fooled.. Nice write, Richard.

They think they can tame us so we let them think they have. Lol. Enjoyed. Tom.

I think a woman can mildly, gently and lovingly tame a man, to a point, as who wants to actually change the man you loved and then married. Musicians however could be more tempermentle and stubborn, fame makes them almost unreachable, one would have to swim along in his waters mostly. Love how you write Richard, very intriguing and masterful! Hugs, Jennifer.

Most men are changed for the better when their spirits are in communion with the woman they love. No need to try to change them, it will happen naturally.

It’s a story about a musician and the woman who wishes to tame him.
