Intransigence
I was listening to a therapy talk
Often it helps to calm you down, you know
And this went on defining love as a prejudice
Something similar to a preferred choice, may be.
And, at a point, it suggested to close eyes, for
thinking about the face of the supposed beloved
For reminding that happiness is more important than love
A conscious choice, cautious also, could be.
I closed my eyes, sitting there, blank and blind.
Life is too swift to guess sometimes, yet one of a kind.
I felt, I was not blank and not blind, any more
And I thought about the options, preferred choices.
And I decided to cherish that face, I saw, then and there.
