Into the Sunset

I dream I am standing on the deck of a vessel Nearing the western horizon, into the sunset Into vivid glowing reds and oranges, I nestle, I dream I am standing on the deck of a vessel The ocean beneath like an overarching trestle, Floating over life’s experiences I’ll ne’er forget I dream I am standing on the deck of a vessel Nearing the western horizon, into the sunset. Floating over life’s experiences I’ll ne’er forget Nearing the western horizon, into the sunset, I dream I am standing on the deck of a vessel The ocean beneath like an overarching trestle Into vivid glowing reds and oranges, I nestle, Knowing soon I’ll ne'er again say a sad farewell.

Love the imagery Milton. I was on a cruise once and went to the gym, it was 06.00 in the morning and witnessed an amazing sunrise with all the amazing colours and your verse brought back that memory. Tom

I've never seen the sunrise on a cruise because I'm always in the berth hung over (true!) I have seen a number of sunsets, however. I love the ocean. Thanks for the read, Tom.

I like the continuity of this "I dream I am standing on the deck of a vessel" Nice one.

I'm glad, Caren. The idea kept running through my head at the same time I was writing My Last Poem. Gave me pause! (chuckling)
