The moment when the farmhouse hit the ground
my life in black and white was gone for good.
A technicolor country I had found,
a panning for the gold of Hollywood:
In glitter dusted gown of pink chiffon
a fairy floated in to break the news
of how I’d killed a witch without a wand
and earned myself a pair of ruby shoes.
She pointed to a path of yellow brick
extending to a town of emerald green.
I skipped along in sparkling shoes so slick,
the trees and wild flowers bent to see.
My life is so much brighter for the spin
from Kansas to the rainbow land I’m in.
