Into the Abyss
I was in an abyss more than a decade ago.
No hope for I had fallen into the darkness,
Thrown in the deep pit of self-pity, my faith
Obstructed by hopelessness, doubt, anger.
Then I saw the light that gave me strength,
Hope and belief that I can crawl out from
Endless disbelief, uncertainty, trepidation.
Another abyss at this time, only this one
Besets the family, society and the world.
Yes, this abyss between good and evil, this
Senseless divide creating violence, bullying,
Subjugation spreading globally, a pandemic.
