Into a Warm Night
I remember each curve,
nodding in quiet response
moving towards me, as you walked across the floor
each finger lifting gently to caress the welcomed silence
when eyes danced in unison in motionless space
when need and want became two hands
tethered without fear, in candle's light
as the soft trembles of a saxophone
whispered in the background
Upon the wall, flickering light painted a silhouette
shadow upon shadow, before the eyes closed
leaving the world of sight, into a world of senses
cool breezes from windows quenched the thirst
from the sweat of our palms
we danced without care or restraint
wrapped in sheltered arms of love
as the world disappeared into a warm night
from melted candles and empty glasses
