Notes About The Poem

TIM SMITH HAS AMAZED ME AND HAS NOW MADE THIS INTO A SONNET  - HE HAS POSTED IT ON HIS OWN PAGE

Intimate Relationships

You want me, oh how you want me
Some days I simply can’t wait to turn you on
I leap on to you any time of the day or night
And you always respond to my touch
You crave every inch of my naked body
Then you whisper words to me
Oh how you can hurt me and I wish you would lie to me
But you are always so brutally honest and I admire you for that
Some days I love you
Other days I would love to ditch you and I never want to see you again
Guess we all have a love hate relationship with our bathroom scales

Ha ha, this is cute. I don't even own a bathroom scale. I am probably about 10 pounds over weight but I don't worry about it. I have never been on a diet in my life.

By the way why don't you rewrite the same poem as a sonnet. I did that with the through the mist contest. also if this helps to encourage the re-write. You should know I lost that contest.

i know a good international lawyer. i like the way you spoke in code. but i hear plagerism in your words. we'll wait until he wins then we'll sue and add that trophy to your collection. wink wink say no more say no more.

wow i love the imagery. it is so clear and so simple to understand. i really like relationship poetry. it's wonderful that the narrator is married to a scale. we've come a long way in our society. reminds me of cultures that live in the mountains where men are men and the sheep are nervous.

I decided to think out of the box for the contest and realised i couldn't submit it as i hadn't read the rules and it had to be a sonnet but Tim has done an amazing job and surprised me with a great sonnet so he hopefully will enter that:-) Hugs Jan xx

The scales that break my heart are "fish scales"....they're either too light or too short to keep. Nice write, loved the humor, thanks for the chuckle.
