Interrupting Two Black Panthers

I had never interrupted a black panther conversation before.
I stopped in my tracks, barely breathing.
Hoping neither of them had noticed me.
One of them had a sniffer high in the air.
I ducked behind a vine.
My heart was beating like a hummingbird’s wings.
I waited.

I had the Black Panther Headquarters on my paper route while in High School in Houston, Texas. Those Panthers can be scary! Oh, different kind ... Have a nice evening, Caren. Bill
