Notes About The Poem

BOM warns 'severe' conditions likely this summer

Intensity and Calm

Heat
Dark sky
Distant sound
Wind starts to wail
Sudden blinding flash
Thunder crashes outside
Rain lashes down in a wrath
Shattering branches in the night
The world shakes beneath the grave barrage
Morning light breaks through the silver clouds
Dripping trees in the calm morning
Puddles reflect the clear sky
A bird sings its first song
The air feels renewed
Everything’s mute
Silence now
Peaceful
Still

Admirable nonet for example from the host. Sounds like last Sunday night here in S. Indiana. I like how yur longest lines are complete sentences which gives some strength to the necessarily shorter ones. Stayed in the basement until 1 am for safety during tornado watch. I enjoyed the movement from dark to light.

Tornadoes are headline news in Hawaii when they touchdown, not for the damage, if any, but just for their rare appearance.

Both examples are composed in one stanza. May I break into two nonets, keeping the sequence 123456789 987654321

It need not be a contrasting poem like my examples; it can be a story. It-1, begins-2 ... and it-2, ends.-1. Yes, sequentially.
