Innovation

I see the way things are currently done
No one has changed them in thousands of years
Now I sit and ponder wondering how
One person can change the course of history
Very few think there is a need for change
Against the darkness I will prevail
Tomorrow the rest of the world will wonder why
I didn't think of this sooner
Open your mind to new possibilities
Now all you have to do is flip a switch

Wow, Rick... you really knocked it out of the ballpark with this one. Now all you have to do is flip a switch.... in this day 'n' age ignorance is a choice, for information is all too easy to obtain! A fave...

I guess there must be a certain freedom that comes with ignorance for it allows the person to act as they wish.

Excellent way of doing an acrostic, Richard. I love how the lines really support the title!!

I, too, am confused. The only requirements for an acrostic is for the first letter of each line to spell out the title... and you've clearly done that.

Hi Andrea, Jerry below states this isn't an Acrostic, have I missed something?

Initiatives will be sought with invigorating spirit. Richard, it as if you are writing about ME, which means you and I are not the only innovating souls. Well done! Verlena

This is very creative. Is there any poetry form you can't do extremely well?

We change history by making our own history, changing the course of collective destiny together, by prevailing over apathy and ignorance towards beauty strength and wisdom Richard. We realize what we must, when we must. Great poem of self discovery. J.A.B.

Edison being the undisputed inventor of all time with more patents than anyone could count flipping the switch was the dead on parody for you Acrostic. Well done my friend.

This isn't an acrostic, but it is okay by me. I would rather feed the world and see how it'll grow. The responsible people in the world seem to get shoved aside by shysters, et al., it can be turned around, but we have to work for it, don't much like the idea of flipping that switch.

Richard, Great write here. I like the lead up to "flip the switch." It would be nice in our complicated world if something so simple could be the answer. Enjoyed it!! Cheers and Best Wishes, Gary

Hi, Richard...I don't see the acrostic. Am I missing something? This is a riddle. I'm stumped. Maybe that's because I taught four classes, had a meeting, and am still in the office at 4:25 pm....Hugs
