Innocent Days

Innocent days

I cried buckets and buckets
The day he was gone
Didn’t even know
That I had done wrong
I said that I loved him
What more could I say
Thought he loved me
But he left anyway

I wailed and wailed
Like a hurricane breeze
I thought it would last
And that he’d never leave
Together, for ever
With my bestest friend
But he didn’t say goodbye
He just left in the end

There were tears and tears
I kept asking why
Where did you go to
And why make me cry
I woke up one morning
With the sun shining bright
And found my best friend
Had run off in the night

I wept and I wept
And I just couldn’t stop
He was my first friend
And I miss him a lot
But now I have new friends
John, Joe and Stan
But I always remember
My mister snowman
