Innocence Duo-Rhyme
A new born babe so innocent,
lays in mother’s arms quite content
flailing small limbs in full display,
young lungs fill with air, loudly bay.
Soft eyes lacking doubt or dismay
fragile heart, no burdens to weigh
or thoughts too sinful to betray.
Hand cradles tiny head from sway,
safe on mother’s chest she will stay
until she is grown, moves away.
Born into a world reticent;
knowing for sure she’s heaven sent.
