Innocence

Once I ran, forgetting myself in rising excitement,
after fireflies bearing tiny torches of light.
Hunted after tree Dryads in the neighbouring woods, 
and summoned tooth fairies to do my homework.
Innocence is what dissociates a child from an adult.

I asked my husband to explain to me how Jesus Who existed before the world was formed could become a baby to be born in Bethlehem so long ago.
