Inner Wound
An empty place a could not fill A large hole lie within my chest Worldly pleasures poured in still fleeting satisfaction at best Like a hole in my bucket A flood then it is gone again Growing bigger like a tucket Louder still was the gapping pain The inner wound widens with use Still an empty place a could not fill The horseleech’s daughters do abuse A wound that would not heal Thinking nothing will satisfy the crave An open grave walking the earth But there is always hope and grace With a broken heart healed new birth I can tell you of the deceitfulness of sin Large hole well it is a God shaped girth That only Jesus can fill I hope you let Him in
