INNER JOY OF SLOW SPRING

An inner joy of slow spring rise
it dances a trot with late cold
weatherman is presumptive bold
wisely wheeling announces nigh

Dream garden awakes undisguised
an inner joy of slow spring rise
hangs itself up over hedge fence
beauty arrives in flimsy sense

We flit out of seasons changing
red butterflies flutter dancing
an inner joy of slow spring rise
in wood cabin room curls surprise

Last few tasks of winter now gone
dissolving barren bleakness worn
floating away in green grass dawn
an inner joy of slow spring rise
