I,N,K,L,L,Y

I NEVER KNEW LOVE LIKE YOUR'S.

I never knew you could love me the way that you have shown.
Beatings of physical cruelty, it's all I've ever known.
Beatings upon beatings with eyes swollen black-n-blue,
is all I've ever known, that was until I met you.

Here you are, so gentle with a loving embrace you show you care.
It's hard for me to tell you all, my love, it's hard to share.
And still you are so gentle, a loving kindness you release.
Your patients, it astounds me with a new love you increase.

Slowly painful memories locked up in my mind find escape and are released
as into light from darkness like a spring I suddenly unwind the dreadful
hidden memories pour out my bleeding mind.
The floodgates as they open wide like a river running wild.

I hear a gentle spoken voice, "Your safe with me my child."
As I release that painful time when pain was all I knew
my broken heart began to mend as I leaned on and trusted you.

My Father it's by your Grace I live, now sheltered in your love
I want you to know I have let go, forgiven all that he has done.
So lost is he in addiction begging to be free.
Oh Lord I pray you hear him, just like you once heard me.

Thank you Charlie, Inspirational is right when I sat to write I had no idea where my pen would flow. Then something I had read that day led the way and the words flowed like a racing river. When I sat back and read it I knew it had to be. God Faithful and true ready to heal just like He healed me. Bless you Charlie and thank you for your kind comment. hug x
