Inevitable truth

An eternity in your eyes I saw
Yet behind broken dreams I stand,
I blame you not, for this is my flaw,
Hoping for that which no mortal shall have.

Memories of an eternity I had made,
In the sands of time I watch them fade,
Was this ever meant to be?
Or was this but a fleeting moment of karma.

Deep in my heart I yearn.
Hoping to have that I did not earn,
Cloaked I am in solidarity once more,
Yet for Cupid’s arrow I gave my all.

I author no words of regret,
I sing no songs of pain,
For your light was all I needed,
An eternity I had not but fleeting hours I always had.

I guess it's time I faced reality,
Time I accept the actualities
Demons and angels cannot be,
Under the hue of thee I let my quest be.
