I've learned there can be thunder without lightning and rain And that a hailstorm of admissions can cause sorrow and pain But there was never a moment of indifference in my emotions Doubt me if you will, but my heart was steadfast in devotions I must take the blame for many things I wish I had not done but being nonchalant about our relationship was never one For falling deeply in love with you, I was totally unprepared Yet, by the time I realized that it was happening... I dared The restless waves that crash as they wash upon my shore were born from ripples of the past that left me wanting more I drowned when your love became a raging river inside of me Does that confession sound like I thought of you with apathy? Despair would fill every crevice of my being and I'd be fraught if you thought I was passive, and my mind would be wrought I have only my tarnished words that I can offer you as proof Please believe that my feelings were never ambivalent or aloof
