Indecision
Indecision
Soft and golden is the sunlight,
Warm and luscious is the peach.
Gently in my hand I hold it
As the world within my reach.
I inhale its heady fragrance
Lips caress its downy skin,
Yet I hesitate to bite it
Break into the flesh within.
Thus I stand upon the threshold
Of a world that beckons me,
“Come and step into adventure
Taste the splendours you can see.”
Still I hesitate to enter
Though the door is open wide.
Eager for the fruit I’m offered
Fearful of the worm inside.
