Incendiary

The moth, inexorably drawn To an incendiary fate, Is tunneled to the wormhole's end And placed in stasis, there to wait. A single strand of silk is all That ties it to a universe, A speck caught in a cosmic thrall Suspended in a quirky verse. A strange fire arcs the silken cord; The spark moves at the speed of light. A dragon bursts forth from its lair, Takes flight as the moth's wings ignite. Back at the source, a blackish smudge, The only hint of what took place. A worm imagining set free, Unleashed to roam in time and space. ———————— 2022 Poetry Marathon Mile 10 Poetry Contest Sponsored by Mark Toney

It took time to follow the poem. Highly fascinating. Imagining to set free in space and time! May be the ultimate faith to roam in quirky verses. BIG CONGRATS. Superb!

Jeff, "Incendiary" is very thought-provoking. You had me reviewing wormholes, string theory, and multiverses. I also decided to watch the Christian Bale movie "Reign of Fire" again this weekend. When will this obsession ever end? I have to fav it to keep my sanity :) Congratulations on your win on Mile 10 of my 2022 Poetry Marathon Contest. Keep your running shoes on, because Mile 11 has already started. Also, check out my blog post to view your current standing in the Marathon.
