Incase I Actually Get Her

Don't play my heart, or break my heart
But that's like saying don't erase my scars
You can't feel happiness without pain
Have sunshine without rain
If I put you at ease, do you promise you won't make it hard?
Will you allow me to lower it in my own time?, or try to break the guard?
Force your way through the shield I have up?
Can you embrace my bipolar ways?, are you mad enough?
Am I too crazy for you to even deal with?
If I'm still numb, will you try and help me to feel this?
Will you help me to grow? Be my crutch?
If I fall will you help me up?
Am I supposed to do it alone with no guidance?
Sometimes I'll want to be home, sitting in silence
Will you tell me how you feel?, cause I'll never understand a female
I'm a man, so I'd be confused even with instructions and details 
Could you put up with my bad jokes?
Would you understand I can be happy, and still like a sad quote?
Would you be mad,if I'd rather write a poem than go to a club?
Could you accept that sometimes it takes a lot for me to hug?
Will you see my characteristics? Even when its something I don't want to show?
Would you hide it? Or allow me to know?
If she's willing to do all of this? Will my heart let her?
What if I actually get her?

The poem or club thing - I think the equation changes as people get older; i.e. more chance that being a poet will be just fine with her. Patience - who knows how much is required? I didn't meet my wife-to-be until I was 37.
