In your eyes I saw nothing

Nothing , that's what I saw in your eyes.
The reflection of what once was my wife
But your voice swore it was you and
I tried to believe you in between
fleeting blinks and investigatory words
I couldn't escape the legions,
thoughts that held you hostage,
in the recesses of my mind.
I wanted to hold you, but
you couldn't Rember me.
The warmth we once sustained
had grown cold during the eclipse
of our star. I know the demon resides
in both of us.
