In the Valley of the Mountains

I step into the new day. Standing, in the valley of the mountains, The red dawn predicts change. Inside, a cloak of darkness hangs. Daniel sits, confused, in his brown reclining chair. Birds cut low through the morning sky. Knowingly, Earth follows the Laws of Nature, rain will soon fall. Lingering, he grapples with mortality, as death's cloak falls over him. The storm breaks hard. I cry, in the valley of the mountains, where the dawn predicts change. Re-post from 1/2010
