In the US of A

On this date, in the U.S. of A.
People celebrate in their own way.
There are hot dogs on grills
And the fireworks’ thrills
With the stars and stripes out on display.

Yet for many who feel as I do,
There’s no point to this hullabaloo,
For instead of delight
At the flag’s red and white,
All I see and I feel is the blue.

I hear ya, Ilene. The poem I posted this morning was one I posted earlier in AP and some guy threw a fit saying my statement on the bottom was hateful of Trump. That discussion continued until he said Trump upholds the constitution like all presidents do. At that point I remembered the phrase, "Ya can't fix stupid" and told him he could talk to himself.
