In the Rose Garden
The intoxicating scent of roses
Each single one caressed and moonlit kissed
Gazing up at mirroring star poses
Silently waiting for the morning mist
Perched under honey sweetness of moonlight
As its warm caress cloaks the pair farewell
Turtledoves cuddle and nuzzle all night
Enamored under a crystal moon’s spell
Grateful for this evening's blessed twilight
Reverent I walk through God's creation
Peace and paradise on this wondrous night
Knowing this may be my last ovation
Sweet rose petal caressed nigh my demise
I'm ready, Lord, I've said all my goodbyes
