In the Mountains

In the mountains 
There is silence 
  
         The peaceful contentment 
          Of a mind
          At one with nature 
          In the evening twilight 

Surrounded by tranquil beauty 
And the stillness of the rugged landscape 

          Let the meditative mind 
          Pause and reflect 
          In a moment of silence 

               What God has done.

I have driven over the Rockies and the Alps when i was much younger. I enjoy writing short succinct poems and longer ones (like historical narratives).
