In the Mood For Rock:

It's just so good the sound of Rock 'n' Roll, Add in rhythm and blues it's hard to choose, The way it moves you touches your soul, It's great the feeling when you have the blues. Playing some AC/DC in the night, Or Muddy Waters and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Guaranteed it will make you feel alright, Some prefer to listen to a love song. Personally, I love guitar music, Jimi Hendrix is my favourite one, The way he strummed those strings with his pick, And I love many songs that he has sung. So the next time you may be feeling down, See a live band, have a night on the town. /|\ (Ten syllables per line)

Cool poem, Rick. Very nostalgic. I loved all of the musicians you mentioned. I stopped listening to rock around the AC/DC era. But I always kept my eye on what was happening in the music world. So I know some their greatest songs. Great sonnet of tribute. Love always, bro.

Hi Rick, I just love Rock and Roll, even at my age, I am an Elvis and Cliff Richards fan and still am, in fact any type of Rock N Roll and I just love this sonnet, which I might add is my favourite style of poetry, take care.......Vera

Haha, you won't believe this! But I was just talking to a friend about Elvis! What a coincidence! I use to listen to him on the farm when I was just 12 years of age. I think he died around then too. Thanks for your visit and comment, have a great day in WA. /|\

There is nothing better in my opinion, rock rules and is such an uplifting and motivating genre for me. Like you mention, AC/DC, Highway to Hell comes on as I driving and my speed increases drastically. Guns n Roses can make me act like a fool when Sweet Child O' Mine blares from the speakers, Bad Company, Steppenwolf, Van Halen, Ten Years After and yes Jimi. Very cool my friend.
