Notes About The Poem

Found all year in most parts of range, but some withdraw in winter from northern and higher-elevation areas. Every year, a few spend the winter well to the east along the Gulf Coast, and west to the California coast. Vermilion Flycatcher

In The Moment

In The Moment…

I’m elevated and aroused, doused in scenic sensations
Tickling my ears are the sounds of vermilions chirping
Jasmine incense redolence pure pleasance
The lasting impressions of a passerby’s stirring smile
while waving back at the doe-eyed carefree child

I love your imagery, Anaya. The bird is truly quite beautiful, but your words are just exquisite: "Jasmine incense redolence," "vermilions chirping" are striking and pleasurable to the eye. Thanks for sharing. (Also, I saw in your response to Duke that you are self-taught - I'm self-taught too. Doesn't make you any less of a poet my friend. You are a very talented poetess)

Yann, I feel such a good vibe when you visit I am starting a bird series and am warming up, this bird's uniqueness is it's a flycatcher. I'll do the research as long as you delight in it! TY! be there soon :D

Anaya, you've captured much more than the beautiful bird. The reactions you've noticed only hint at your power of perception. Thanks for sharing and smiles!!!

I'm just getting started on a bird series, in order to learn something new. I want to explore what bird watchers see, first I'm taking time to identify them thru the internet, why not. Duke, I've stayed 4 yrs and am a self-taught poetess, never have I admitted i'm a poet it is with your help. Smiles back at you ...
