In the Midst of Trials

by Mel Eyas Dicdican Many times along the way I found myself going astray. Not just once or twice But as often as bird flies. I am not certain how long I could go For each day so many things that are hard to do. Doubts and fears seem to be the barricade of my ideals But these are not the reason for me to hide from trials. Fight and never give up This wise principle of old gives me strength to stand up. Hardship and trials I would face That the necessity of life I could suffice. Life without challenges has no meaning For life is sweet after all the crying. I should be strong to overcome the obstacle So that I could reach my long awaited goal. Listening to elder's advice Could somehow make me wise. And when trials would come again I would say to myself I'm not living in vain.

Nice one you have here Mel. The theme is enough to give you a 7. Acceptance, endurance, forbearance, tenacity, wisdom gained from trials are just few of the many I've seen that are wrapped in your poem. Maybe you'd want to go to the definition of Rhyme form of poetry, though. God bless and more smiles in our land of thousand isles...:D Kim

Thank you so much Kim for the compliment and for the 7 :) Well, Rhyme form seems to me easier to do than the rest since I am just on the very first step of the "ladder". Yet I'm still interested to the other forms, though. I will try to make it happen one of these days. Happy Valentines and God bless you always, Kim! :) Proud to be Pinoy!
