IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT
"In the middle of the night" midst dream's flight
My eyes are enthralled by jubilant sight
"when the butterflies dance" with graceful delight
"to the moon's song," radiating God's light.
Awakened by meditation’s silence
My heart seeks refuge in the Lord’s presence*
Enclosed around His loving prevalence
Savouring sweet scent of prayer incense.
In a silent way, yet graciously blest
My faith ascends toward revival zest
Reaching-out with triumph midst serene quest
Quieting murmurs of trial and test.
Now plunging into depths of peace divine
My soul sees miracles’ sovereign design
Magnificent as they sublimely shine
To be shared, smiting syndrome, “only mine.”
Yon tranquility that ripples hope-splash
My spirit defies skepticism clash
To march forward despite survival crash
Keeping still while vanquishing noisy trash.
*Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
