In the Hard Times
In the hard times, God is still there
Giving me the chance to grow
Discover the questions I need to ask
And giving me the answers I request
In the hard times, God is alive
Showing me that I’ve grown
And helping me to finally become
Someone worthy of His time
In the hard times, God is pursuing
Reaching out to me with love
Helping me to realize my mistakes
And erase the pain of the past
In the hard times, God is revealing
New ways of opening up my spirit
And giving generously of myself
To those who need a friend the most
In the hard times, God is whispering
Perfect inspiration into my heart
Filling me with wisdom and beauty
That only He can possibly stimulate
In the hard times, God is welcoming
Me into His presence where I can find
Peace that surpasses all understanding
Serenity that is forever alive inside me
In the hard times, God is loving me
With a love that is unconditional and living
Abiding within with His Holy Spirit
Where I can feel certain I have a true friend
In the hard times, God is reminding me
That this time is truly an encouraging blessing
A second chance to learn a lesson and arrive
At the destination of glorious love He’s expressing
In the hard times, God gives more than hope
He gives faith and love and all that is so good
He never punishes through the hard times
But gives us a sense of Himself to see us through
The hard times are merely opportunities to grow
For I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. ~. Jeremiah 29:11
