In the Garden
I stand in the garden
Sunlight streaming down
Warming my bare shoulders
Caressing cheeks and neck
~
I stand in the garden
Roses drenched in dew
Soft petals whispering to me
Blinding my eyes to worry
~
I stand in the garden
Azaleas coaxing tender smiles
Approaching the cool morning
With vivid colors of pink and white
~
I stand in the garden
Emerald ferns shadowing my sight
With a crystal clear jewel dripping
Hues so bold and enlivening
~
I stand in the garden
Between vibrant arrays of delight
Welcoming the breeze that calls
Capturing faith’s sense of assent
~
I stand in the garden
Briefly yearning for the raindrops
Showering the green patch
Initiating sprigs of gentle prayer
~
I stand in the garden
Amid beauty that inspires my heart
To feel a sense of joy and hope
Moods of a creative flow
~
I stand in the garden
Expressing pure pleasure to see
Miracles touching the ground
Treasures that fill me with thanks!
~
God’s blessings are all around me!
