In the Fragility of Dreams

I am turning back the pages of time in my dream and I find myself again at our family home playing with my brother in the sandbox- I moan in my sleep this is a fragile place and painful place and I want to leave oh, why did you go to fight in that war so far away (WHY) don't worry sis, you said, I am a peacekeeper we don't fight but, you still came home in a flag draped box brother and now you are but a name engraved on a white cross_ the memories I have of you are fragile and tattered with time _________________________ May 17, 2020 Poetry/Verse/In the Fragility of Dreams Copyright Protected, ID 20-1252-925-03 All Rights Reserved, 2020, Constance La France Written for the contest, In The Fragility of Dreams sponsor, Silent One Third Place

What a poignant piece this is. There is always a little hole left in your heart when you lose a loved one. A place that remains a little sensitive through the years. A fine write God Bless and stay well, JB
