In the Eyes of the Law

To society I’m just a teen Almost an adult, but still so green Held back by an invisible screen That makes, to society, a difference between Being the ages of seventeen and eight-teen I’m told the world is not what it seems to be In a world full of people you’re as small as a pea Not everyday goes by like a cup of tea No one breaks out in a song like in glee You have to, in you’re mind, be able to see That not everything and everybody in this society is free Society lays upon us rule after rule Insisting they be followed but not overruled Even at a young age, institutionalizing them in school But what they don’t realize is that they have been fooled By remind us, and making us feel like a minuscule They have just angered us, and we are using it as our fuel To break everyone of their rules just to see them ridiculed
