In the Eyes of An Owl
Sometimes I can't help it but coo-
not because cooing is cool
for owls in Halloween,
but because I'm communicating
with my fellow owl friends.
I coo when I'm full,
after eating a hearty meal of fish;
raw, juicy and delicious!
Sometimes some human folk
shoo me away,
thinking I'm a sign of bad luck
to their lives.
I coo to try to explain to them
I'm just a bird like any other,
but my cooing and head spinning
only frightens them more....
