In the Corner - Nonsense Nursery Rhyme

In the corner

Little Jack Horner
Sat in the corner
Fighting the urge back to cry

His tummy was aching
For what mom was baking
His favorite, a sweet cherry pie

But there he was waiting
His project negating
If only he’d thought first to try

And aim for a door
When he painted the floor
Now he’s stuck there until it does dry

Hi Chris, This is a great entry for the contest theme. Poor, poor Jack , next time he just has to wait. Because "good" things come to those who wait. I wish you the best luck in the contest. A without a doubt seven:-) Alexis

Thank you my sweet friend and you are right, good things do come to those who wait. But when it's cherry pie, I hope I don't have to wait too long. :)

Top of The Morning Chris. This reminds me of my youngest nephew. He's always in trouble but claims he did nothing. It's so funny. So you see, your entry brings a smile and a chuckle. We readers can relate. Good luck with the contest. And yes to Little Jack Horner too. Well done

If I were Little Jack Horner, I couldn't care less about wet paint. Heck, if I were dumb enough to paint around me, I would CERTAINLY be dumb enough to crawl right through it :D Good luck in the contest my friend :)

The moral don't paint yourself in a corner or you'll be crying about your pie...lol
