In the Back Streets of My Mind Contest
Along this trail of wires running through my mind
Much like an old ghost town the back street is always on my mind
Sometimes its dark and gloomy and other times it just lights up
Today I shall chance it and tell this story about
In The Back Streets of my Mind
I think about this and I think about that then place them in the back
Sometimes I lose the key to open the door to the back street of my mind
But when I do a mountain of thoughts rush though taking up my time
Trying to separate them one at a time in
In The Back Streets of my Mind
Today I will give you a gift and let you see what I am thinking
1. What do I want for dinner
2. How in the heck am I going to finish this poem
3. I wonder how many people read my poems today
4. I can’t forget to pick cat food at the store
5. I wonder if Jan is going to write another poem about poop
6. That reminds me don’t forget to get toilet paper at the store
Well, I guess that’s it that's all I have
