Notes About The Poem

In the Arms of Summer

hot days unlikely
as colored leaves fall pretty
indian summer

though glimpsing the fall
late summer's still at the gate
love songs in the trees

beautiful encore
a rich hued, bloom revival
in surprise sunshine

laughter out of doors
though the green dream is fading
autumn elopement

Beautiful images in this poem, and I love the picture too. "autumn elopement"--great phrase.

Great haiku series, Evelyn. You conveyed some beautiful imagery throughout these haikus. Changing colors along with fading dreams in the last one is stunning.
