In That Paper
In that paper you gave me,
Written the lies I believed in
The evidence of our failed commitment,
And still I cherished it.
In that paper you gave me,
Mirrored the memories we shared,
Lies the sacrifices I did for us,
And still I kept it.
In that paper you gave me,
Were the words that made my heart rattled
The ones that led me to my first heartbreak,
And still I hid it.
In that paper you gave me,
Still wet from my tears,
Still conveyed the pain you brought,
Held the hope that one day; you’ll be back.
